Linda Burlingame, age 62, was charged after she was arrested for the crash that happened near Border Street Bridge in Cohasset around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, Police Chief William Quigley reports.

Responding officers found an empty Audi SUV with rear-end damage and Burlingame trying to drive away in her Honda sedan, which had heavy front-end damage.

Officers approached Burlingame and told her to stop the car, at which she refused. It was later determined that Burlingame was intoxicated, Quigley reports.

She was formally charged with operating under the influence of liquor (fourth offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

Burlingame was given an alcohol monitoring bracelet after she was arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday. She is due back in court for a pre-trail hearing on Dec. 13.
